The AusProEd scholarship program is designed to support exceptional international medical graduates from developing countries who demonstrate academic excellence and financial need. We believe that financial constraints should not stand in the way of talented doctors pursuing their career goals in Australia.

Eligibility criteria

Designed for exceptional international medical graduates!

Eligible countries:

Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Rwanda, Sri Lanka, Uganda, Zimbabwe, and other low, lower, middle income countries as classified by the World Bank.

  • Medical degree with distinction (top 10% of class)
  • Outstanding academic record with minimum GPA of 3.5/4.0 or equivalent
  • English proficiency (IELTS 7.0+ or OET B or equivalent)
  • Two recommendation letters from academic institutions
  • Valid AMC account with portfolio already created
  • Strong performance on AusProEd pre-screening assessment
  • Demonstrated financial need with supporting documentation.
  • Unable to afford full course fees (income/expense verification).
  • No other substantial scholarships currently awarded.
  • Clear financial plan for long-term career goals.
  • Commitment to give back to healthcare in home country.
  • Willingness to mentor future scholarship recipients.
  • Strong motivation and dedication to medical practice.
  • Good character with no criminal record in home country.
  • Clear articulation of career goals in Australia.

Application

Submit your application with all supporting  documentation.

Applications are reviewed by our scholarship committee.

Eligible candidates will be interviewed  before a decision is made.

Frequently asked questions

Can I apply if I've already started my AMC journey?

Yes, you can apply if you've already created your AMC portfolio or even attempted the AMC MCQ exam. However, preference may be given to candidates who are at the beginning of their AMC journey and have not yet had the opportunity to access quality preparation resources.

What if my country is not listed as eligible?

We primarily focus on candidates from low-income and lower-middle-income countries as classified by the World Bank. However, exceptions may be made for candidates from other countries who demonstrate exceptional merit and significant financial need. Please contact us before applying if your country is not listed.

How many scholarships are awarded each year?

We want to award as many scholarships each year for best candidates across all courses. The exact number may vary based on available funding and qualified applicants.

What happens if I'm awarded a scholarship but cannot start the program immediately?

Scholarships must be utilised within 3 months of being awarded. If you're unable to begin within this timeframe due to extenuating circumstances, please contact us immediately to discuss your situation. In some cases, we may be able to defer your scholarship to the next intake.

Do I need to have an AMC account before applying for the scholarship?

For some scholarships you need to have AMC account, whereas some you don't need. For example the courses related to MCQ and Clinical exam preparations, you should have already created an AMC account and started your portfolio verification process. This demonstrates your serious commitment to pursuing medical registration in Australia.

Is there an age limit for scholarship applicants?

No, there is no age limit. We evaluate applications based on merit, need, and potential for success in the AMC examinations, regardless of age.

What support will I receive beyond course access?

Scholarship recipients receive the full AusProEd experience, based on the scholarship awarded you get full access to all those features that paying users get, including access to our exclusive IMG community, practice exams, study materials, and ongoing support throughout their AMC journey.
